Places to Visit This December

December has become the month where most people take a long break in the week preceding the New Year. With Christmas break and most multinational companies (read: clients) not working during that time, there’s more reason for the holiday.

We list down a few places to visit this December so that your vacations don’t go waste!

Kutch, Gujarat

December is when Kutch, the beautiful and serene white expanse transforms into a hub of cultural activity and vibrancy. The Rann Mahotsav is an annual festival celebrated and visited by a huge number of people. With the temperatures dropping low, this is a perfect time when tourists and travelers can experience the culture of Kutch at peace. Visit Kutch and take in the vibrant tranquility of this place.

Alleppey, Kerala

Kerala backwaters are listed as one of the most romantic getaways in India. With a soothing setting, rustic feel and houseboats that look like they’re from a different world, this trip will not disappoint as a fairytale romantic getaway. Get your better half and head to Kerala for a relaxed time amidst nature. There are ayurvedic centers where one can avail of treatments and make the most of natural therapies to rejuvenate and relax.

Nagaland

Did anyone think of visiting the North Eastern states during December? No? Why not? The Hornbill festival celebrated annually in Nagaland is one that demands your presence at least once in your life.

The folk music, performances, and traditional dances reflect Nagaland’s local culture and can make you feel like you were missing out on it while living your focused life in the city. There’s more to the Hornbill festival than this. There are bands that come to perform here as a part of the Hornbill Rock Festival. Are you still looking for reasons not to visit Nagaland? We hope not.

Ooty, TamilNadu

Once upon a time, there were people who had Ooty on their travel lists. However, in more recent times, Ooty started getting replaced by Coorg, Munnar, and other northern cities and villages. The charm of this hilly place is intact with its hills, thick forests, grasslands, and its signature slopes of tea gardens. Ooty feels like you’re amidst the best things the world has to offer. If you think you need to be among the clouds and lots of green, head to Ooty.

No guesses for this last li’l one – Goa

This is one destination we wouldn’t miss for anything on our list of where to head to for a December holiday! It is true that Goa is now a getaway destination for almost 365 days a year and December is no different. The whole of Goa is buzzing during the last month of the year with either preparation for Christmas and New Year or for the various EDM festivals and beach festivals. It definitely is no surprise that Goa makes it to our list.
